Plot

After being saved for six years, he returned to India with his son Krishna after killing Dr. Dr. Siddhant Arya While the latter’s mother, Sonia Mehra, passed away during this time, Rohit Mehra now lives in Mumbai with the former.

Krishna is married to Priya, who now works as a journalist for Aaj Tak after resigning her previous job in Singapore and Rohit works in a research institute.

Krishna, while moonlighting as superhero Krrish, is regularly fired from various day jobs due to lack of attendance. Rohit is researching a device that will bring dead tissues to life using solar energy (after realising how Jadoo gave him inherentory powers derived from sunlight) but the experiment needs a filter which could pass only the amount of sunlight needed.
Namibia is experiencing the spread of a deadly virus without a known cure.

Dr. Rohit’s friend Dr. Varun Shetty and Kaya, a female mutant who can change her form, kills Alok Sen, a scientist who wanted to talk to him about the virus. She is the secretary of Kaal, a handicapped evil geneticist with telekinetic powers.

In an attempt to cure himself, Kaal creates a group of hybrid humans and animals known as Maanvars—a portmanteau of the Hindi words “Maanav,” which means “human,” and “Jaanvar,” which means “animal.” The virus was spread by Kaal himself to incur huge profits by selling its antidote.

On Krishna’s birthday Priya gives the good news of her pregnancy to Krishna and Rohit. Kaal now intends to gain more profits and sends his mutants to India for same as India has a large population and it is a god-fearing one. Rohit discovers that the virus, now spreading through Mumbai, has no effect on Krishna, Priya (pregnant with Krishna’s child) or himself.

He decides to test it in his blood sample but Krishna asks him to test on his blood instead and it shows no effects on Krishna even after injecting.

Hence Rohit makes an antidote with Krishna’s blood. By using small rockets which explode in the sky and dispersing the antidote, Krishna spreads the antidote over the whole city as Krrish. Kaal sends his mutants to attack Rohit. Krrish saves Rohit but Priya is injured.

Carrying out Kaal’s instructions, Kaya shapeshifts into Priya while Priya is kidnapped by Kaal.
Posing as Priya, Kaya leads Krishna to believe that Priya miscarried in the attack, and lives with the Mehras. While one of the mutant Striker who was captured by Krishna on the night of the attack is killed by Kaya to conceal her identity, she begins to love Krishna unilaterally and frequently feels guilty for cheating on him.

Rohit makes the trip to Singapore to inquire of Dr. Dr. Siddhant Arya’s companion Mathur, where he is kidnapped by Kaal’s men. Krishna discovers Priya’s kidnapping, reveals himself as Krrish, and asks Kaya to take him to Kaal’s laboratory. Kaya decides to help rescue Priya.

It is revealed that Kaal is indeed Rohit’s another biological son, created by an experiment conducted by Dr. Arya while Rohit was held hostage by him years earlier.

As a result, it turns out that Kaal is Krishna’s younger brother. He was born with Rohit’s powers, just like Krishna, but he is only able to move his face and the index fingers on both hands. He is adopted by a wealthy man, but he eventually becomes evil after killing his foster father.

Kaal uses Rohit’s bone marrow to cure his disability. Kaya saves Priya but is murdered by Kaal for her disloyalty. Kaal also severely injures Krrish. Rohit re-uses his failed dead tissues experiment to save Krishna. However, the beam of light created by the experiment needs a filter in order to take effect on Krishna.

Rohit stands in front of it, allowing only a portion of it to make contact with Krishna. This resurrects Krishna, killing Rohit in the process.
If Priya isn’t found and taken to him, Kaal has returned to Mumbai to taunt the city’s residents by threatening to destroy the city.

Priya voluntarily surrenders herself, but Krrish then arrives and a fight between Krrish and Kaal ensues. With the two now capable of flight and super strength, Krrish and Kaal’s fighting destroys many buildings across Mumbai, while Krrish is emotionally weakened due to the number of people dying around them.

Finally, Krrish manages to kill Kaal using Rohit’s solar experiment pen by focusing the unfiltered rays onto him.

Six months later, in the aftermath, Krishna and Priya name their newborn son, Rohit Mehra. The baby also seems to exhibit superpowers. This signifies the superhero legacy’s continuation.

Production

In media reports, the movie was referred to as both Krrish 2 and Krrish 3. In an interview with Rediff.com, Hrithik Roshan confirmed that the movie will be called Krrish 3.

KRRISH 3(2013)

This is in line with the Rambo film series, where the first film was called First Blood, then Rambo, and finally Rambo 3. To Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan also clarified the title.

“I can’t reveal the budget of the movie, but it has been a very costly film,” said director Rakesh Roshan in an interview. The film was reportedly produced on a budget of ₹1.15 billion (US$20 million).

Red Chillies VFX, a subdivision of Shah Rukh Khan’s motion picture production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, worked on the special effects worth ₹260 million (US$3.1 million) for Krrish 3. After the filming process was finished in June 2012, the VFX team got to work.

Peace Before the Storm

In the quiet that follows a world saved, Krishna Mehra—a gentle soul beneath godlike powers—lives in humble anonymity. He works as a scientist by day, a devoted husband to Priya (Priyanka Chopra) by night, and secretly fights crime as Krrish when duty calls.

Meanwhile, Rohit Mehra (Hrithik Roshan in a double role) continues research in genetics, energy, and healing—a brilliant mind still shadowed by loss and haunted by discovery.

The world is at peace.

But far away, in a lab pulsing with sterile menace, a monster stirs. Kaal.

Part paralyzed man, part god-complex genius, Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) is a creation born from tragedy—his own body crippled, his mind brilliant, and his hunger unquenchable. He creates a race of mutants—Maanvars, grotesque hybrids of animals and humans—seeking a cure for himself… and a way to dominate the world.

Krrish doesn’t yet know this…
But the war for the future has already begun.

The Rise of Evil – Kaal and the Maanvars

Enter Kaya (Kangana Ranaut), Kaal’s shape-shifting lieutenant—a mutant born of chameleon DNA, seductive and deadly. She infiltrates the world of Krishna and Priya under false pretenses.

Meanwhile, a mysterious virus spreads across India. Cities tremble, governments panic. Rohit and Krishna race against time to develop a cure. What they don’t know is that this outbreak isn’t natural—it’s engineered.

By Kaal.

He tests his virus, then his antidote, manipulating entire populations for control. He sells salvation, while planning extinction.

When Krrish confronts the virus, Rohit—after heartbreak and loss—unlocks the secret to reversing its effects. But in doing so, he becomes a target. Kaal, upon learning of Rohit’s brilliance and Krrish’s true identity, unleashes his wrath.

And so the chessboard is set.

Father. Son. Hero. Monster.
Science. Faith. Love. Power.

 Betrayal, Loss, and Revelation

As Kaya impersonates Priya, tensions rise in the Mehra household. But her time spent near Krishna begins to awaken something human in her. In an unexpected turn, Kaya falls in love—not with Krishna, but with the purity in him that Kaal could never understand.

Eventually, Kaya rebels.

But not before Rohit is taken.

In one of the film’s most gut-wrenching moments, Rohit sacrifices himself in an explosive confrontation, using his body as a conductor for a solar beam that halts Kaal’s death virus from spreading.

Krishna, broken and furious, sees his father’s dying light—and within it, a new fire is born.

This is no longer just a battle to save others.

It’s personal now.

Krrish vs Kaal – The God Showdown

The climax of Krrish 3 is thunder incarnate.

Kaal reveals his true form—a being now able to stand, fly, and manipulate objects with his mind. The battle that ensues is a clash of titans, set against shattering buildings, swirling clouds, and emotional stakes that elevate every punch.

It’s not just spectacle—it’s legacy.

Krrish, bruised and nearly broken, finds within him the strength not just of Krishna, not just of Rohit—but of every life he’s saved, every soul he’s touched. In a final blow powered by solar energy—his father’s last invention—Krrish defeats Kaal.

But even in victory… the scars remain.

Grief, Glory, and the Flame of Hope

Rohit Mehra is gone.

A father, a genius, a gentle soul who started it all. His absence leaves a silence that no thunder can drown. Yet in the silence, a whisper remains:

“Krrish will return.”

Krishna and Priya welcome a child—one who giggles as toys float into the air with the flick of a finger. A new legacy is born.

The hero lives on.

 The Soul of Krrish 3

  • Hrithik Roshan: Masterful in dual roles. Rohit’s innocence vs Krrish’s fury—each portrayed with gravity and grace.

  • Vivek Oberoi: A haunting performance—Kaal is Shakespearean in his villainy, wounded yet terrifying.

  • Kangana Ranaut: Unexpectedly layered—her arc from weapon to woman makes Kaya unforgettable.

  • Priyanka Chopra: The emotional anchor—Priya brings warmth, realism, and resilience to this fantasy.

 The Science of Soul

  • Genetics & Power: Can science save us… or doom us?

  • Legacy: The father-son bond echoes across time.

  • Identity & Duality: Who are we when the mask comes off?

  • Love vs Control: Kaya and Kaal represent two sides of creation—compassion and domination.

 The Aesthetic of Awe

  • Rajesh Roshan’s soundtrack elevates emotions—from the romantic lull of “Dil Tu Hi Bata” to the pulse of action.

  • Action & VFX: For its time, Krrish 3 pushed Indian cinema’s boundaries. From Krrish’s super-leaps to Kaal’s telekinetic mayhem, the effects were ambitious, bold, and unforgettable.

More Than a Movie

Krrish 3 wasn’t just a film—it was an event. It:

  • Cemented Hrithik Roshan’s place as India’s superhero icon.

  • Proved Indian sci-fi could stand tall alongside Hollywood.

  • Sparked discussions on cloning, biotechnology, and morality.

More importantly, it inspired a generation to believe that heroes can be born in labs, in storms, or in the quiet heart of a kind man trying to make the world better.

 The Mask Lives On

As lightning fades and dawn returns, a child looks up into the sky and whispers a name.

Not Superman.
Not Spider-Man.

But Krrish.

Because the world doesn’t just need heroes.
It needs hope with a human face.

And in India, that face…
Still wears the mask.

Perfect well made copied film from Hollywood! The efforts were seen , like the whole film ! Still remember came from a school trip with grp of friends of 10 days , being far from family & contacting through phone to watching this film the next day as we land in our city, one of the memorable moments of life 🧬 Krishna as krrish again with an impressive villain , Vivek oberai was superb !
He’s having the power of magneto from x men & his team filled with x men mutants , it was impressive to watch it as in Indian city on a big screen !! Rakesh Roshan sir very well ge copied the movie of Hollywood & mix it all to make krrish 3 which fits very well with krrish basic principles of saving life’s !!
Rohit Mehra as scientist , kangana ranaut as Maya (just like Jenifer Lawrence mutant from x men) , Priyanka Chopra also did a good supportive role !!
The film sticks to krrish basic principles of saving life , the twist that comes in second half which is a family type , it was good to watch good vs evil & dialogues were perfect, sounded like a Hollywood dubbed.
Hindi film but still we have krrish , mix of desi touch , makes it a good watch !! 19-20 difference with Krrish, othwise krrish is still a new cool concept superhero standalone film made & krrish 3 copied from various Hollywood films but perfectly fits with desi touch of Indian hero krrish makes it a survival & a good superhero to watch !!
Vivek vs Hritik is the highlight of the film & Bgm of krrish as usual was too good & songs were good !!! Thoroughly enjoyed the film 🤩😍

High on style action, low on emotions . The very first thing that made the entire Hindi audience kind of cringe was its title numbering that despite coming after krrish 1, how come it is numbered krrish 3 and even i thought they made a mistake but the logic was this is the 3rd film in the originally Koi Mil Gya franchise. Still, the fact that makers changed the name of the franchise and then gave the 2nd film of the superhero a title Krrish 3 still makes no sense. Coming to the main film, this was promoted as a high on style and VFX film.
Again they did a good job with the trailer giving away very little and we all thought this was going to be a game changing Bollywood film. Sadly, it was all style, no emotions. The base of the 1st two films was formed by emotions and bondings and Krrish 3 just chose to skip it.
It was made only to show an action superhero film with some quality VFX, nothing else. This is why the story of Krrish 3 falls behind its prequels. Action scenes were superb and often the film did give off hollywood vibes with its evilish creatures and the main villian Kaal. VFX used was top notch. Some scenes were quite cringy including the most trolled scene , the intro scene where krrish saves a plane .
The pilots and dialogues given to them was hilarious, unintentionally. Also, Krrish 3 often became preachy for no reason. Definitely shows the film is intented for small kids and not univeral audience. This is something that put the film down. Songs were not popular and instead were a bit cringy.
A superhero film and we have weird songs like raghupati Raghav raja ram in dance mode and God Allah aur bhagwaan which was the most cringiest song to exist in a superhero film . Overall, Krrish 3 can be watched if you are a Krrish fan and more importantly following this franchise since Koi Mil Gya.
However, it lacks universal appeal and feels more restricted to kids as in 2013 i had turned 15 and easily figured out the cringy preachy moments it had meant for 7-10 yr old kids. And lastly for love of God, stop comparing characters to superhero films you seen in Hollywood.

This is a reply to Muhammad Zakariya and Mehul Jain I understand your appreciation for Bollywood movies and your concern about plagiarism within the industry. Believe me, I was a huge supporter of Bollywood movies in my childhood until I grew more mature and found about more shocking discoveries about it.
But with this issue of plagiarism with this movie, I stand against the idea because literally 45% of all Bollywood movies are remakes and are “plagiarised” with similar scenes, movements, gestures and acts/stunts. Most of the creativity and plot of the movie is choreographed meticulously so that it can have the same sort of platform as the original movie. For example, the 2008 movie “Ghajini” played by Aamir Khan was a remake of the Tamil movie in 2005 that was also titled “Ghajini” played Suriya and the same actress Asin along with the same antagonist Pradeep Rawat.
The movie was also an unofficial remake and sort of plagiarized from the Hollywood movie Memento in 2000 which had the same plot as Ghajini. Not to mention, the director and team of producers and publishing company asked permission to the directors of the X-men if they could remake one of their movies and make it so that it fit the sort of Bollywood aroma and the directors agreed to make a compromise.
They were allowed to make a remake as along they received at least 15% of the profit, excluding any deposits. So, it’s unreasonable to give such a negative critique against Krrish 3 as it’s in a completely different industry. There’s no reason to call anyone stupid for liking this movie and believing it’s original or just supporting the movie.
If anything, you’re just stupid for believing this was unoriginal and criticising against it. (Sorry if there’s bad English! I’m not a native speaker of English and still learning it. I’m from Bangladesh by the way 🙂
